Aaron Copland: Movement for String Quartet
Ludwig van Beethoven: Streichquartett Es-Dur op.127
Das Schumann Quartett ist dort angekommen, wo alles möglich ist, weil man auf Sicherheiten verzichtet. Das schließt auch das Publikum mit ein, das sich Abend für Abend auf alles gefasst machen muss: „So wirklich entwickelt sich ein Werk nur live“, sagen sie, „das ist ‚the real thing’, weil wir vorher selbst nie wissen, was passiert. Spätestens auf der Bühne fällt jede Imitation weg, man wird automatisch ehrlich zu sich selbst. Dann kann man in der Musik eine Verbindung mit dem Publikum herstellen, kommunizieren.“
