Description of the event

Die Novelle "Das Wirtshaus im Spessart" wurde 1826 von Wilhelm Hauff verfasst. Sie erzählt die Geschichte einer jungen Gräfin und ihrer Hofdame, die auf einer Reise durch den Spessart nach einer Panne mit ihrer Kutsche in einem abgelegenen Wirtshaus einkehren. Dort werden Sie von einer Räuberbande gefangen genommen. Die Gräfin entwickelt einen Plan zur Flucht und das Ganze nimmt seinen Lauf...
Bekannt wurde das Wirtshaus im Spessart auch durch den gleichnamigen Film aus dem Jahr 1958 von Kurt Hoffmann.
